Spring Term, week 8

This week we will be asking children about their favourite book and drawing their favourite characters together.

Thursday 7th March we will be celebrating World Book Day so please dress your child in a costume of their choice, or you can send them in with their costume. You are welcome to send in your children’s favourite book for practitioners to share with them and other children.

We will discuss Mother’s Day with the children and talk about what our mums do for us.

Winter Term, Week 6 & 7

We would like to welcome you all back from the half term break, and we hope children are all well rested and ready to enjoy the next five weeks of the Spring term.

For the next two weeks we are going to be introducing children to Spring colours in our environment. We will mix prime colours together to look at the cause and effect of combining different colours together.

We will also be teaching children about the many different types of flowers that we can buy and grow in our gardens.

On Thursday 7th March we will be celebrating World Book Day. Please dress your child in a costume of their choice. We will look at the children’s favourite books, so please send one in next week, clearly labelled.

Winter Term, Week 3: Ice and Water

This week we will be experimenting with water. We will make dinosaur icicles and look what happens to ice when exposed to heat.

Children will be looking at items that sink and float we will take this learning forward by looking at materials in the environment to see what happens to them when exposed to water. We will then look at the attributes and sounds of water.

Children will be experimenting with water paints and we will then go onto producing water bubbles collages.

Later on in the week children will make and taste vegetarian jelly.
