Nursery Life

At Little Crickets, we take pride in providing carefully planned and structured activities that are tailored to each individual child.

We build these activities on each child’s personal skills, abilities and attributes. We implement a topic-based approach to learning, and their key worker flexes this with changes based on the child’s interests.

Each child has a ‘learning journey’ where we log all the evidence of their development and experiences while attending Little Crickets Nursery.

We have designed the learning environment both indoors and outdoors, to ensure your child has the best level of interaction with the space, and we encourage children to learn independently and form relationships with their peers whilst they play. Teaching goes on throughout the day until your child is ready to leave for home time.

Whilst every session at Little Crickets presents unique opportunities for learning and play, centred around our core learning concepts, a typical session at Little Crickets might be structured as follows:

  • Children enter Nursery with Parents and self register.
  • Free choice indoor/outdoor learning & adult led activities.
  • Healthy snack time.
  • Tidy-up time.
  • Circle time, exploring a concept within our term theme.
  • Outdoor play.
  • Lunch time with key worker groups.
  • Story and Song Time.
  • Home time.
