Autumn/Winter Term, Week 14: Christmas Week Fun

Last Week of Term (16th – 20th December 2019)

Next week is the children’s last week of term before they break up for Christmas. We have an extremely busy and exciting week of activities planned for this special week, and an outline of our plans is provided below.

Monday 16th December – Walk To The Red Letter Box
Monday is the day that children will be posting their letters to Father Christmas with our annual walk to the post box.

Tuesday 17th December – Christmas Songs At Gorway Residential Home
Children will be accompanied on a walk to a local nursing home with their nursery practitioners where we will sing for the residents. The children will give the residents gifts of chocolates to help us understand and connect with the tradition and importance of giving, and of looking after others over Christmas.

Wednesday 18th December – Cooking Delicious Mince Pies & Biscuits
On Wednesday we will be baking a selection of traditional festive treats in the nursery.

Thursday 19th December – Christmas Pyjama Party
On this day we will be holding a pyjama party for the children! We will all be involved in playing a number of different party games and will enjoy a visit from Santa. The cost per child is £5.00, which includes a party tea and a gift from Father Christmas. Please send your child in a pair of comfortable fresh pyjamas.

Friday 20th December – Christmas Concert
Please ensure children arrive at normal time so that we can start our morning activities and prepare for the concert. Parents are invited at 10.30 to listen to their children sing. Please do not send your child with a packed lunch on this day as children will be departing with their parents at the end of the concert.

Special Notices: Children who do not normally attend on the above days can attend an extra session at the normal fee. Please speak to a nursery practitioner to arrange this.

From next term (January) we will be opening on Monday afternoons. If you would like your child to attend Monday afternoon sessions in the New Year please talk to Suki.

May we take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support for Little Crickets Nursery. We wish you and your families a very happy and healthy Christmas, with best wishes for 2020.
