Food & Vegetables

Next week the children will begin exploring our exciting Food  theme, learning all about different fruits and vegetables through fun, hands-on activities tailored to their individual stages of development.

The children will use their senses to explore a variety of fruits, discovering different colours, textures, smells and tastes. There will be lots of opportunities for talking, exploring and trying new things together.

Our little chefs will enjoy making their own fruit salad, helping to mix the fruit while practising sharing, turn taking and discussing their favourite foods.

The children will also get creative with vegetable printing, using vegetables to make colourful patterns and artwork. Alongside this, they will take part in fun sorting activities, comparing fruits by size, shape and colour to support early mathematical and reasoning skills.

Story time will include the much-loved books The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Oliver’s Vegetables, helping the children learn more about healthy foods through stories and discussion.

Our keyworkers will continue supporting their groups through playful learning experiences based around each child’s interests and needs. We are looking forward to a fun and engaging week full of tasty discoveries!
