Over the next fortnight, we will be joyfully welcoming spring into nursery and celebrating a season full of colour, growth, and exciting new discoveries. Our days will be filled with stories, sensory experiences, creativity, and lots of hands on fun as children explore what makes spring such a magical time of year.
Children will be introduced to spring colours found in the environment, noticing the bright greens, yellows, and splashes of colour beginning to appear around us. They will enjoy mixing primary colours together and watching what happens when colours combine, helping them understand simple cause and effect through playful, messy exploration.
We will also be learning about different types of flowers, including those we can buy and those we can grow in our own gardens. Children will explore how flowers grow and why they are important, supporting their understanding of the natural world as we begin to spot the signs that spring is well and truly on its way.
Stories will be shared throughout the day to support this learning, encouraging curiosity, conversation, and imagination as children connect what they see in books to the world around them.
Important Notice
On Thursday 5th March, we will be celebrating World Book Day. Children are very welcome to come dressed as a character of their choice. We will be sharing favourite stories together, so please feel free to send your child’s favourite book into nursery during the week of 2nd to 6th March.
We are looking forward to two colourful, creative, and story filled weeks as we explore the wonders of spring together.
