This week at Tiny Crickets we will be exploring how we keep ourselves warm during the winter months, through imaginative play, stories, and hands on activities in both our Baby and Toddler rooms.
In our Toddler Room, children will be learning about the different clothes we wear to stay warm, such as hats, scarves, gloves, and coats. They will enjoy decorating their own winter hats and gloves using outlined shapes, helping to develop creativity and fine motor skills. We will also be sharing the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and linking this to a cosy cooking activity, where children will help make porridge and talk about how warm food helps our bodies feel snug on cold days.
In our Baby Room, children will explore winter clothing through a hat, scarf, and gloves tuff tray, with opportunities to dress up and explore different textures. Babies will enjoy listening to the Goldilocks story and joining in with simple songs, as well as creating a cosy fireplace picture using tissue paper to make flickering flames. We will also be decorating hat and glove pictures using collage materials and sharing winter themed stories and songs, including our popular winter clothing song.
It will be a snug, story filled week of winter learning, and we are looking forward to lots of warm smiles, creativity, and cosy moments together.
