This week at nursery we have lots of exciting winter themed activities planned for both our Baby and Toddler rooms, all designed to spark curiosity, encourage sensory exploration, and inspire imaginative play.

In our Baby Room, children will be busy building their very own igloo using blocks, developing coordination and early problem solving skills. A watery tuff tray with balloons will offer a fun sensory experience, encouraging splashing, squeezing, and exploration of whether items sink or float. Babies will also enjoy tasting a refreshing Tip Top ice lolly, making vegetarian jelly, and exploring a winter animals tuff tray filled with familiar creatures to support language and recognition through play.

In our Toddler Room, children will be exploring ice in creative and imaginative ways. We will be ice painting by freezing paint into ice cubes and using them as art materials, watching colours melt and spread across the paper. Our teepee will be transformed into a cosy igloo, inviting lots of role play and storytelling. Children will also enjoy rescuing toy animals frozen inside blocks of ice, encouraging teamwork, patience, and curiosity as they figure out how to free them.

It is shaping up to be a week full of chilly fun, hands on learning, and winter wonder across the nursery, and we cannot wait to share these experiences with the children.
