This week at Little Crickets we will be diving into some exciting water based learning, full of curiosity, exploration, and hands on fun. Children will be experimenting with water in different forms and discovering just how magical it can be.
We will be making dinosaur icicles and watching closely to see what happens to ice when it is exposed to warmth. This will help children begin to understand simple changes, such as freezing and melting, through observation and discussion.
Children will also be exploring which objects sink and which ones float. We will take this learning further by investigating different materials found in our environment and seeing how they behave when placed in water. Alongside this, children will listen carefully to the sounds water makes and talk about its different attributes as it splashes, pours, and moves.
Later in the week, children will enjoy making vegetarian jelly and tasting it together, linking our learning to changes in texture and temperature in a fun and sensory way.
We are looking forward to a week full of splashing, experimenting, and watery wonder as children learn through play and discovery.
