Snow and Frost Adventures

Next week at Tiny Crickets we will be wrapping up warm and diving into the magical world of snow and frost. Through sensory play, music, and outdoor exploration, children will learn how winter weather changes the world around them while enjoying plenty of hands on fun.

In our Toddler Room, children will be learning about changes in the weather and how cold days can bring frost and snow. We will be singing the “Five Little Snowflakes” song together and heading outdoors to explore how frost feels on grass and leaves, using descriptive words such as crunchy and cold. Indoors, children will enjoy painting snowmen, making their own pretend snow, and painting with snow itself if the weather allows.

In our Baby Room, we will be exploring snow through gentle sensory experiences using white materials to create snowflakes and a snowy tuff tray to touch and explore. Children will enjoy our melted snowman painting activity and a cosy Frozen day theme inspired by “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”. We will also be squeezing and swirling squirty cream into cupcake cases, giving babies the chance to explore textures in a fun and playful way.

Please remember to send your child to nursery with warm, labelled clothing as we hope to enjoy some wintery outdoor play when possible.

We are looking forward to a week full of snowy discoveries, frosty fun, and lots of winter wonder.
