Snowflake Shapes and Frosty Fun

Next week at Little Crickets we will be exploring winter through shapes, textures, and frosty discoveries. Children will be learning about different shapes as they create their very own unique snowflakes, celebrating that no two snowflakes are ever the same.

We will also be introducing children to a range of textures, helping them to explore and describe items that feel soft, smooth, and rough through hands on sensory play.

As the weather continues to change, we will be talking together about frost and what happens on cold mornings. Children will enjoy becoming familiar with the Jack Frost song, bringing music and movement into our winter learning.

Weather permitting, we will head outdoors to look for signs of frost and spot any icicles that may have formed over the past few days, encouraging children to observe and talk about the winter world around them.

We are looking forward to a cosy, curious, and frosty week of learning together.
