White Winter Fun

As we get ready to welcome back all of our Tiny Crickets with a fabulous week of fun and learning, we will be looking at our new topic.

Next week at Tiny Crickets we will be exploring the colour white through cosy winter inspired play and sensory experiences across both our Baby and Toddler rooms. The focus will be on gentle discovery, new vocabulary, and lots of hands on fun as we notice white all around us.

In our Baby Room, children will be introduced to the colour white through familiar objects and simple associations. We will be creating striking patterns on black paper using white chalk, giving babies the chance to explore contrast and movement. Children will also enjoy decorating biscuits with white icing, sticking soft cotton wool balls onto milk bottle pictures to represent the milk, and we will be sharing gentle stories about lambs as we read books about sheep.

In our Toddler Room, children will be developing early creative and thinking skills through mark making on black paper using white paint and sorting a range of white objects. We will be getting crafty by making polar bears from paper plates and enjoying a little science-style magic by adding food colouring to milk and watching the colours change and swirl.

As the weather continues to feel very wintery, please remember to send your child in with warm, labelled clothing so we can enjoy time outdoors when possible.

We are looking forward to a bright, cosy, and creative week of white winter fun with your little ones.
