It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of term! We’s like to give you some advance notice of the children’s final week before the Christmas break, and we have lots of lovely festive activities planned to make it a truly special time together.
Monday 15 December – Walk to the Red Post Box
We’ll be wrapping up warm and taking a walk to the post box to post our Christmas letters and cards. It’s always such a magical moment for the children as they send their festive wishes on their way.
Tuesday 16 December – Visit to Gorway Residential Home
The children will walk with their practitioners to the nearby nursing home, where they’ll sing Christmas songs for the residents and share some chocolates. This lovely visit helps children learn about kindness, giving, and caring for others during the festive season.
Wednesday 17 December – Cooking Mince Pies and Biscuits
We’ll be getting creative in the kitchen, baking some delicious festive treats and enjoying the wonderful smells of Christmas spices throughout the nursery.
Thursday 18 December – Christmas Pyjama Party
It’s party time! Children are invited to come to nursery in fresh pyjamas for a morning full of games, dancing, and festive fun. Santa will even be making a special visit with a gift for every child. The cost for this event is £5 per child, which includes a party tea and a gift from Santa.
Friday 19 December – Christmas Concert
On our final day, children should arrive at their normal time. Parents are warmly invited to join us at 10:30 to watch the children sing their Christmas songs — it’s a wonderful way to end the term together. Please note that lunches are not needed on this day, as children will go home with you after the concert.
Children who do not normally attend on these days are welcome to book an extra session at the usual fee.
As the term comes to an end, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for your continued support throughout the year. From all of us at Little Crickets Nursery, we wish you and your families a very happy, healthy Christmas and a wonderful start to 2026.
