This week at Little Crickets we will be learning about two important festivals, Diwali and Bandi Chorr. The children will explore how Hindus and Sikhs celebrate these special occasions in different ways, helping them to understand and appreciate the rich traditions of light, family, and togetherness.
As part of our celebrations, the children will decorate their own divas and learn about the importance of light in both festivals. These creative activities will give them a chance to explore colour, sparkle, and design while deepening their understanding of the festival stories.
Since we will be on holiday during Halloween, we will also enjoy carving a pumpkin together during group time. The children will be shown how to do this safely, and we hope this inspires you to try pumpkin carving at home as a fun family activity.
A little reminder that children will break up for half term on Friday 24th October and return on Monday 3rd November. We hope you all enjoy a restful and happy half term with your children, filled with autumn adventures.
