Toddler Room
We’re continuing our wild adventure through the animal kingdom this coming week with a range of fun and creative activities for our little explorers!
On Tuesday, we’ll be getting our paws messy with animal printing! Using lions, giraffes, and tigers as our inspiration, the children will create their own wild masterpieces. During circle time, we’ll play a fun game of Guess Who I Am? using clues and actions to discover which animal we’re pretending to be. Roar-some fun guaranteed!
Wednesday will be a tall order as we make our very own giraffe height chart. Using gluing and sticking skills, children will create a towering giraffe and compare their own height with this gentle giant. We’ll also be exploring animal patterns and getting creative with colouring our favourite jungle animals.
On Thursday, it’s time for an animal rescue mission! Our tuff tray will be transformed into a mini jungle, where children will use their fine motor skills to rescue animals from tricky situations. There’ll be lots of lively animal-themed singing and dancing to keep the jungle vibes going strong!
Friday is safari day! Binoculars at the ready as we’re heading out on an exciting animal hunt to spot creatures hidden around our nursery. After a busy week of learning and playing, we’ll end the day with a relaxing free play afternoon to wind down and reflect on all our adventures.
Baby Room
In our baby room we’ll be off on a farm-tastic adventure next week, discovering all the sights, sounds, and textures of life down on the farm!
Tuesday
We’re kicking off our week with a classic sing-along to Old MacDonald Had a Farm, and you can bet he’ll have all our favourite animals! Using toy animals and picture cards, we’ll moo, oink, cluck and neigh our way through the morning.
Our sensory bin will be full of farmyard textures (with hay, soft cloths, and little plastic animals), for babies to explore with curious hands. Then we’ll snuggle up for story time with farm-themed books, bringing the barnyard to life.
Wednesday
We’ll be tuning in to the sounds of the farm today! From mooing cows to oinking pigs, babies will be encouraged to copy animal sounds using fun toys and sound buttons. Our art session will be a sensory delight as we get messy with finger paints: brown, black, and white, to create spots and patterns just like real farm animals.
Thursday
Today it’s all about the chickens! We’ll read cheerful chicken tales and sing songs like Five Little Chickens to get our wings flapping. Our craft activity will have little hands creating the cutest chick handprints in bright yellow paint. Later, we’ll dig through a sensory bowl of pasta or rice to uncover hidden toy chicks, perfect for developing those fine motor skills.
Friday
Giddy up, it’s pony playtime! We’ll ride into the day with imaginative play using ride on toys to boost our gross motor skills. Our babies will neigh along to horse sounds and gallop their way through music and movement sessions. And for a calming finish, we’ll explore soft blankets and plush toys for cuddles and sensory discovery.
We look forwards to another roarsome week!
