Autumn Term, Week 10: Guru Nanak

Hello to all of the parents and Carers of Little Crickets. We hope you are enjoying the deep autumn weather as we fast approach winter!

The autumn and winter months are the time of celebrations for many people around the world, and continuing our celebrations theme, on Friday of this week we will be looking at the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and relating some of the messages that he taught; in particular to earn a living in an honest way and to share your earnings and gains with others, whilst remembering God at all times.

We will be showing children how Sikhs celebrate this particular festival through the enjoyment of music and singing of kirtan, and through the enjoyment of food, to which end we will be serving a rice pudding for children to try on Thursday, as this is one of the dishes that Sikhs often enjoy when attending Gurdwara.

We wish our best to all of the Sikh families that will be celebrating!

Please continue to wrap up warm in the coming weeks as we are heading for colder weather.

With love from the staff of Little Crickets Nursery
