Winter Term, Week 6: Chinese Year Of The Ox

We are looking forwards to welcoming all children and parents back to Nursery once we’ve all thawed out and we’ve got the nursery room warmed up. We hope you are all well and in good spirit.

This week we will be teaching children about Chinese New Year. We will be talking to children about new year customs for Chinese people and showing them how these are celebrated.

Later on in the week children will be busy making lanterns, and looking at the Chinese letters for OX.

During concept time we will show children the types of food Chinese people eat and how they eat their food. This would enable children to understand some of the differences between cultures. We will also be sharing a Chinese New Year Celebration book together.
