Hello to all parents, carers and children of Little Crickets; we would like to welcome you all back to nursery after the half term holiday and we hope you have all had a restful break.

We are glad to note that all our new starters and older children have settled very well into the nursery setting and are coping very well with their new learning environment.

This week we will be looking at bonfires and light. We will talk to children about Guy Fawkes and help them understand how bonfire night began.

We will create our firework pictures and look at all the different colours created in the sky by fireworks.

We will be teaching children about the importance of safety whilst handling fireworks. Sparklers will be demonstrated by staff during concept time, and children will be listening out for the sounds that are made.

Please continue the learning about this subject at home by showing your children fireworks display on TV or Youtube, and ask them about the sounds they hear.
