This week we will be teaching children about windy autumn days and their effect on nature; such as the falling of leaves at this time of year. Children will be shown different types of leaves and we will discuss the different trees that they have fallen from. To accompany this we will do some leaf printing and collages.

We will share stories and books about Autumn with the children in circle time, and we will look at different animals and how they survive in the Autumn.

Please take this learning further with your child by walking through leaves and asking your child to identify the sounds and feelings of the crisp leaves crunching underfoot. If you are feeling artistic you could use different types of leaves to create a picture together.
