This week we will be talking with children about the importance of reading and enjoying books together. We will look at some of the children’s favourite books and identify some of the characters that they most enjoy reading about. To take this learning further we will look at different types of books, such as the difference between fiction and non-fiction.

World Book Day

On Thursday we will be celebrating World Book Day. Please encourage your child to dress up as a character of their choice to enjoy this fun day with us.

New Reading Scheme

Next week we are going to start sending a book home with each child. As part of  this initiative we wish for parents or guardians to read the book provided with their child, and note down any new words they have learnt, on a learning card provided. Please could you return any school bags back to the nursery this week so that we can begin this new reading scheme.
