I am glad to say all our children have settled back into their new term and are excited and ready to learn.
This week we will be teaching children about Guru Nanak Dev Ji (founder of the Sikh religion) and the message that he taught. On Monday we will be visiting the local Gurdwara to help children learn about the Sikh place of worship. We will go onto planting a tree to mark the 550th anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, as his teachings relate deeply to understanding nature, and the importance of looking after our environment.
Later in the week we will be talking to children about Remembrance Day and the importance of soldiers who fought in the war. Children will be colouring their own picture of a poppy.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all Sikh families a ‘Happy Gurpurab‘ and we hope that Guru Nanak’s 550th Birth Anniversary brings you and your family lots of happiness.
